How often should I change my air filter?
There are so many filters on the market these days that it can be difficult to pinpoint when it's time. A couple rules of thumb:
1" wide filters- 30 -90 days
4-5" wide filters- Generally 6 months to 1 year, but getting a full year out of them is actually pretty rare.
If you have pets or if you're a smoker, you should be checking a little more often. Don't forget the air filter is used in the heating and cooling seasons.

How often should I change the humidifier pad?
Humidifier pads can develop mold if not changed in a timely fashion. Changing them once a year is crucial to healthy, cleaner air as well as adding moisture to the air in the winter.
**Changing the pad in the spring is a good way to be sure you're not circulating any of the build up from the prior winter's use
How often should I have my furnace maintenance performed?
Once per year if at all possible. Furnaces in our climate are workhorses and they need a little TLC like the rest of us from time to time! Always check with your gas provider to see what kind of rebates they are offering and find a contractor that participates with those programs to get a discounted rate.

What options do I have for indoor air quality?
Your filtration system, humidifier and air purifier can work together to make the air you and your family breathe in your home much cleaner than the standard.
**Adding a UV air purifier can go a long way to reducing allergens, killing germs and killing odors from cooking, pets and other sources.
Water Heaters
Waters heaters generally last about 8-10 years, getting the water heater drained and filled periodically is a good way to extend the life of your tank.
